The name “Cataleya” actually comes from a beautiful genus of orchids. The Cataleya is an 18 meter long and 8 meter wide sailing catamaran.
The ship was designed and built by Derek Kelsall, who is renowned in the industry as a shipbuilder and designer of catamarans.
Compared to most other catamarans, the Cataleya actually floats very calmly on the water, thanks to its optimal length-to-width ratio. This means there is less rocking from side to side, and even the most sensitive guests find that they don’t experience much seasickness at all.
Catamaran Cataleya’s interior was designed to be particularly bright and comfortable. Every cabin has character, and they each have their own bathroom (with a toilet, wash basin, and shower).
